- Homer Austin Smith was an American football player and coach. He served as the head football coach at Davidson College (1965–1969), the University of the Pacific (1970–1971), and the United States Military Academy (1974–1978), compiling a career college football record 53–71–1 and a bowl record of 0–1. Smith was also the offensive coordinator at the University of California, Los Angeles, the University of Alabama, and the University of Arizona (1996), and for the Kansas City Chiefs of the National Football League (NFL).
